Roof Cleaning in Harristown, Toowoomba
A homeowner in Harristown, Toowoomba contacted us requesting for their shed roof to be cleaned. They explained how it was a double-storey and a colourbond roof which has not been cleaned for quite some time. They didn't personally go up there as it was quite high, but they suspected that there would be lichen growth and heavy amounts of dirt build-up. We promptly accepted their request for a quote and met in person to give a better estimate of the job by directly going onto the roof and assessing its condition. We confirmed that there was heavy amounts of lichen growth, dirt build up, as well as their gutters being blocked which we offered to clean as well. We scheduled the job for a couple days after and when we arrived there, we immediately got started on preparing our Sodium Hypochlorite chemical mixture diluted with water. We got onto the roof with our ladder and safety precautions, then proceeded to apply the chemical mixture onto the roof using our 12V soft-washer. After letting it sit for 5 minutes, allowing it to kill the lichen and wash the dirt, there was already an astronomical difference. The roof went from being grey and brown to being a light yellow colour due to the chemical reactions that were occurring. Although we could've left it and let the rain wash off the residue, we deem it as a job not complete. Using our pressure washer to give the roof a final rinse, all the dirt and remaining lichen was washed off leaving the roof completely white and shiny. To finish off, we also did a gutter cleaning on their gutters to fix the blockages and overflowing they were experiencing.
